The international meeting (workshop) in Rakovnik, Czech Republic, within the framework of the European program Erasmus+ KA2 entitled FEEL (Fostering refugee inclusion), feel-project.eu, was successfully completed.
The theme of the meeting was the integration of immigrant students (especially Ukrainians) into the education system. The sections were thoroughly analyzed: a. Increasing the participation of parents and the local community in the school, b. Language gap, solutions, the use of technology, c. Psychological aspects: difficulty of integration and socialization – Teacher training on integration and intercultural education with the participation of psychologists, pedagogues and sociologists d. Increasing the participation of immigrant students in school activities.
The sessions of the meeting took place at the Rakovnik Vocational High School (Střední průmyslova škola Emila Kolbena Rakovník) as well as at the offices of the American multinational company Procter & Gamble. The project started with the welcome from the Director of the school unit and continued with the presentation of the objectives of the project and a tour to the infrastructure of the school. The project, which is essentially a continuation of the Erasmus+ WAY project, aims to strengthen the skills of teachers for the more effective formulation of strategies for the integration of immigrant students (with a focus on students from Ukraine). Participating teachers (40 in total) had the opportunity to attend interesting workshops on the topic mentioned above.
Finally, the coordinators of the project organized the next actions, in order to transfer the acquired knowledge to each country (organization of workshops locally) and to publish the planned toolkit, which will be given to the wider public in various languages, soon through project website feel-project.eu.
